FAQ

Questions people often ask us

What does KilimoVision do?

We help families build climate-smart livelihoods that improve health, nutrition and wellbeing. Our work covers three programme areas: climate-smart food production for households, training and inputs for smallholder farmers, and school gardens for children's nutrition.

Where do you work?

We work in the Dadaab refugee camps and the surrounding host communities in Garissa County, north-eastern Kenya, an arid region where drought and erratic rainfall make farming difficult.

Who benefits from your projects?

Our NAFIS project supports households, about 70% from refugee and 30% from host communities. GrowWell works with smallholder farmers, and Nafaqo reaches school-going children through school gardens.

What does “climate-smart” mean in practice?

It means farming in ways that keep producing food through heat, drought and unpredictable rains: using water carefully, protecting the soil and choosing crops and methods suited to local conditions, while keeping costs low for families.

How can I support or partner with KilimoVision?

We welcome partnerships with donors, NGOs, government agencies, schools and volunteers. Email us at info@kilimovision.org or call +254 729 111 768 and we will be glad to talk about how we can work together.

What does the name KilimoVision mean?

“Kilimo” is Swahili for farming. Our vision is a future where every family can grow and eat nutritious food, earn a decent living and withstand climate shocks.
